The Story Behind Üllo
Üllo was founded by James Kornacki, Ph.D., an American chemist and inventor passionate about enhancing the wine experience. Driven by a desire to create a solution for sulphite-sensitive wine lovers, James invented Selective Sulphite™ technology, a groundbreaking method to remove sulphites from wine without affecting its natural flavours and aromas.
"My aunt is sulphite sensitive and couldn’t enjoy wine at our family gatherings. When I read that others had similar reactions, I felt the need to create a solution. With my background in chemistry, I had the knowledge to make it happen."
With a doctorate in chemistry from Northwestern University, James brought his vision to life by launching the Üllo Wine Purifier, the first product of its kind.

The "Ü" in Üllo is inspired by the alchemy symbol for purification, reflecting our mission to deliver wine in its purest form. Pronounced “oo-low,” Üllo is dedicated to helping wine lovers everywhere savour wine the way it was meant to be—simple, pure, and natural.
